Roland-Garros is an international tennis tournament, which takes place every year in France in the city of Paris, at the Roland-Garros stadium. This year, it will run from May 20th to June 9th 2024. This will be the 123rd edition of the professional tennis tournament.
It is one of the four most important tennis tournaments in the world alongside the US Open, Wimbledon and the Australian Open. The best players on the planet participate in this prestigious event.
Six weeks before the start of this competition, the organizers interrupt the ATP ranking. This ranking provides the list of the best players of the year and the name of the world number 1. Then the first 104 are automatically qualified for the tournament. To these players are added 16 players who have to earn their place by competing in a qualifying tournament and 8 other guests chosen by the French Tennis Federation. The tournament has 128 men players and as many women.
The players fought to win the Musketeers Cup for men and the Suzanne Lenglen Cup for women. Last year the legendary Novak Djokovic once again won the tournament and it was the talented Iga Swiatek for the women’s title.
